I am a fan of real Hip Hop... you know the competitive kind... So when I heard the news that Remy Ma is very close to being released from prison I couldnt help but get excited for Hip Hip.. Now Im not saying that Remy Ma is the answer or anything like that... but it would be nice to see someone at least contend for the Throne that Nicki Minaj has dominated in the female side of the industry... for the last 5 years Nicki Minaj has dominated the charts, awards etc.. mostly because there has not been much competition for her..
Remy Ma has the potential to be great. So hopefully she has spent these years locked away working on her artform and coming up with a solid plan to re enter society... Prison has a way of changing
people...just look at Boosie... hes definately matured since going away and it is very evident since hes been released. Remy has been locked up almost 5 years on a 8 years sentance.. the only other female MC that has done that kinda time is Da Brat...Remy Ma has the potential to be great. Remy Ma is going to need some great production behind her.. not just beats to rap over! That is probably what has given Nicki Minaj the consistancy over the years. A team like young money who can pretty much get any songwriter, producer, marketing team, fashion designer they want at will is a luxury that Remy Ma never had... hopefully her release will inspire people to throw some resources her way!! So until then we can all just patiently wait to see what will happen!!
